My Summer With Sade
As a lot of you may know i have been away most of this year touring the world with my big sis Sade!
It's been an amazing journey so far and there's still a way to go... So i thought i would share a little with you on how things have been going.
We started rehearsals at the end of February in a secret hideaway in the countryside which would be my home for the next 5 weeks!. It was great to be there as we could all focus on the show and the music as well.
After the long 5 weeks of rehearsals we then went to the South of France to continue with production rehearsals... This is where we take what we had rehearsed in the UK to the stage to then produce the show! I must say it was a lot of work but it paid off in the end.
The Sade Soldier of Love world tour was ready to hit the road!
We started in Europe and covered as many countries as we could with a convoy of 9 tour buses, 12 HUGE trucks, crew, lighting, production, catering,... OHHHHH THE CATERING!! that was our biggest weakness!! the food was amazing and the deserts i don't even want to talk about it let me show you what we had to fight against!
The whole nine yards!
All the venues in Europe were huge and each show a sellout!
Below are pics from soundcheck and a poster with all the German reviews.
We had taken Europe by storm!
Next stop was the USA!!
After a long stretch in Europe we took a few days off to recharge before arriving in Baltimore to start our 1st of 54 sold out shows!
It was complete pandemonium! the fans were so excited to see us again... I will never forget the first show... the crowd were so loud i had to turn my ear pack up to nearly full!
Each show just got better and better and the fans were getting louder and louder LOL
I remember playing the 1st night in Chicago at the United Center home of the Chicago Bulls... The crowd were so loud when my in ear monitors came on i nearly fell of my stage riser! Haha
We covered so much of North America and each night was special. it was so nice to be back!
Joining us on the U.S tour was John Legend who put on a great show before we came on to rock the house!
I gotta say this tour out of all the tours i have done over the years was the best i have ever been involved with!
We had such a mixture of people turning up to see the show all cultures and ages... REEL MUSIC!
Sade has inspired so many people and it was a pleasure meeting some of them back stage.
Below are pics me with Lenny Kravitz; me and Maxwell; me, Mary J Blige, P Diddy with my big sis Sade; me with the legend that is Mr Bill Withers.
I was blessed to meet these amazing people as well as others in the U.S!
Well after nearly a 4 month tour of North America its good to be back home for a few days to recharge again before we start the 3rd 4th and 5th leg of the world tour!
Next stops South America, Eastern Europe & Australia!
